COMPANY HISTORY

International Hydronics was founded in 1966 by Robert Bruns, P.E. and Albert B. Mindler, P.E. to serve industry as consultants and engineers in the fields of water and hazardous waste treatment and resource recovery. As part of this service, an in-house testing laboratory was organized to support pilot plant and to assess ongoing process performance. During the early 1970's the USEPA began to standardize testing procedures in the field of water analysis, and later solid waste analysis. Hydronics' testing laboratory grew along with the regulations and requirements for permitted operations and sample analysis under the Clean Water Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The laboratory has participated from the very beginning in USEPA round-robin testing under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program, and later NJDEP-USEPA joint testing.

Until about 1988, the company regularly designed, constructed, and operated waste water and hazardous waste treatment plants for a variety of clients, including American Electric Power, Rollins, Allied Chemical and others. At present, Hydronics is a registered to provide engineering services and certified by the State of New Jersey under NJAC 7:18 for the performance of drinking water, waste water, and solid and hazardous waste testing . Hydronics maintains a Microbiological Laboratory, a Metals Laboratory (AA, GFAA), an Organics Laboratory (GC, GC/MS) and a Limited Chemistry Laboratory (Lachat). In addition, Hydronics has a very experienced engineering staff which is proficient in the performance of Treatability and Process Development Laboratory Studies and chemical engineering process development.

Hydronics pioneered development and implementation of centralized, multi-service waste treatment facilities. Included in this was operation of the first commercial biological waste treatment facility. Three of the four systems designed and built by the company are still in operation.

In 1994, Hydronics purchased Ambient Engineering, Inc., an air pollution control concern with 20 years experience in waste gas treatment and control. Through this acquisition, the company became a significant entity in the development, design and installation of biofiltration systems. Major installations include those for Kodak, Int'l. Flavors and Fragrances, and others.

IHC occupies a 7500 square foot facility with 400 linear feet of bench space and maintains a technical staff with ample experience in the environmental control and testing field to insure that the quality of work is at a consistently high level. Currently celebrating its 36th year of operation, Hydronics recognizes that its longevity is due to customer satisfaction. We are proud of the superior level of service that has allowed us to continue to provide superior service and expertise to our clientele.
